The Texas department of health claims that only 2.5% of COVID deaths are occurring in the vaccinated. This gets a big headline in the WaPo. But in Vermont, it is the opposite. Who can we believe?
According to MedPage Today, a generally reliable mainstream source, "In mid-October, the CDC started publishing cases and deaths by vaccination status on its COVID Data Tracker for the first time. But the information was only current as of September 4 -- and the page hasn't been updated since...Yet some states report their data on breakthrough cases, hospitalizations, and deaths in real-time, or at least on a more regular basis."
When asked to clarify their reasoning, CDC did not respond."

Just eight of the 33 Vermonters who died of Covid-19 in September were unvaccinated, the Vermont Department of Heath said Wednesday.
Health Department spokesperson Ben Truman said most of the vaccine ‘breakthrough’ Covid-19 fatalities were elderly. Because they were among the first vaccinated, Vermont’s elderly “have had more time to potentially become a vaccine breakthrough case,” he said.
Expressed in percentages, 76% of Vermont Covid-19 fatalities were breakthrough cases. As of Tuesday, 88 percent of all eligible Vermonters (age 12 and over) had been vaccinated with at least one shot.
At Tuesday’s press conference, the Department of Health September mortality statistics did not show a vaccinated/unvaccinated breakdown. Despite recent emphatic references by Gov. Phil Scott and Health Department Commissioner Mark Levine to a “pandemic of the unvaccinated,” the per capita rate of vaccinated breakthrough deaths has risen in recent weeks.
Vermont Daily Chronicle asked Health Department spokesman Ben Truman Tuesday for a vaxxed/unvaxxed breakdown of the 33 September deaths. The full text of his email appears below:
“Eight of the 33 deaths in September were not vaccinated.
“If I may, it’s important to consider this data in the specific context of the populations and overall vaccination rates.
“For example, there were a total of 33 deaths (as of 9/24) among fully vaccinated people since January. This is a fraction of a percent of the vaccinated population – now nearly 450,000 people age 12 and older. This is an indicator that vaccines are working to protect the vast majority of Vermonters from the worst outcomes.
“Age is an important predictor of disease severity, and we have been seeing that the Delta variant is taking a tragic and disproportionate toll on our older population.
“In addition to being more likely to have severe illness and consequences like hospitalizations and deaths, older Vermonters were among the very first to be vaccinated, and therefore, have had more time to potentially become a vaccine breakthrough case, with these more severe outcomes.”
Truman also pointed to a September 29 Covid dashboard slide showing “the extent to which the overall vaccinated population in Vermont is older than the unvaccinated population.”
However, other public health experts say the changing nature of the Covid virus also may be a factor. The CDC has noted that virtually all Covid-19 fatalities this month succumb after contracting the Delta variant. Critics of CDC vaccine policy say the current vaccine is less effective against the Delta variant.

Such numbers are misleading if we don't consider age. The young are much less vaccinated and also much less at risk than the elderly. They should not be added together.
If 95% of the elderly are vaccinated and 5% not, then look at the deaths within that age group. For example, if 0.05% have died vaccinated but 1% unvaccinated, the absolute numbers would still be nearly the same (falsely suggesting to some that it doesn't matter if you get vaccinated or not). And the error is then magnified if we add in younger and younger groups, less vaccinated and less at risk.

Oh, for Pete's sake! Earlier this year, Delta was taking a tragic and disproportionate toll on young people. Has it changed its mind?
They've had more time to become a 'breakthrough' case that occurs in the month of September?? - only if that is an oblique acknowledgement of the increased risk that comes with expiring efficacy
I've noticed that international news stories have increasingly incorporated skeptical and even dismissive statements by local authorities towards what they'll characterize as the 'US position' on these matters.
This coincides with an increasing candor in their coverage of vaccine efficacy and the prevalence of adverse events, as well as policy making. It's apparent that the CDC and US health authorities generally are no longer seen as honest brokers regarding vaccines.
Santa Clara County yesterday, and all of California today, authorized boosters for everyone.
The Santa Clara health chief talked about the waning effectiveness of the vaccines. What I wonder is - how does she know that? California's numbers don't reflect waning efficiency. They are more like Texas and show vaccinations work really well.

Santa Clara is committing a crime. The vaccine booster was not authorized by FDA for all adults; in fact, Pfizer only requested FDA authorize for all yesterday. FDA is only beginning that process.
For those in whom it has not been authorized, it is legally totally experimental and recipients would not even have access to the countermeasures injury compensation program if they were injured, as apparently happened to California's brave and forthcoming Governor.
Yet one more example of the lawlessness that has been brought in with the New Normal. Criminal behavior by health authorities. Under the guise of managing a pandemic, a totalitarian world, absent the rule of law, is being ushered in, with very few seeing or understanding what is happening.
It is a pandemic of the Liars, the Phonies, the Insane, and the criminally Insane: witness Gov. Scott and his DPH.

If that's the logic being used, stick with it, but don't pretend this is anything other than deception, plain and simple.
Prior to Vermont's mass vaccination, there was 136 deaths involving COVID-19, through Dec. 31, 2020.
Deaths grew from 2, from March 20, 2020, to 49 on April 30,2020.
And from May 1, 2020, with 50 deaths; to Nov. 17, 2020, grew to 59 deaths.
And then death counts rose to 136 by year's end, 2020.
Now 2021: From Jan. 1, 2021 to Nov. 10, 2021 = 252 deaths.
To compare:
2020 = 136 deaths
2021 = 252 deaths
For the Vermont DPH to say: [[This is an indicator that vaccines are working to protect the vast majority of Vermonters from the worst outcomes]] . . . is perfectly preposterous.
The covid "vaccine" has neither halted nor slowed down deaths.
Instead, deaths with COVID-19 have been on the rise all during the mass vax thing, in 2021, in the state.
And there are nearly double number of deaths this year compared to 2020.
