Dr. Nass, Do any of these new rulings benefit Maine health care workers? Thanks.

Yes--The injunction means that the HCW mandate cannot be enforced by the federal government. The case will continue (AGs vs federal government) but the judge has basically said he expects the AGs to prevail.

So no hospital, medical office, nursing home, fire station, ambulance company is now under any pressure to enforce manddates.

If they continue to try to enforce them, them will not get help from the feds. They will (for the moment anyway) still be enforcing EUA aka experimental vaccines--and that is not allowed under the law.

So forget Houston Methodist's decision, where the judge simply ignored the EUA issue.

Smart addministrators will back off, while the more stupid control freaks will probably try to keep them going. Which will hurt the facility due to staffing problems. At that pooint, you have to file lawsuits, and challenge the boards to get rid of the administrators who would happily run their facility into the ground for a few pieces of silver.
