Just a few things I learned on my trip

1.  Big demonstrations in Italy against the green pass have been happening

2.  The one supermarket I went to in Italy and the one in US yesterday had fully stocked shelves

3.  All I needed to fly between Italy and the US was a negative rapid or PCR test.  To get into Italy evidence of prior immunity works too.  My airport test at JFK cost $225 while my airport test at Malpensa cost 20 Euros.  The rapid test had to be done within 48 hours, while you got 72 hrs with the PCR.

4.  There was no "border" as we drove back and forth between Italy and Switzerland.  No checkpoint, no stopping the car, nothing.
