Excerpted from an article in the December 29 Charleston, W.V. Daily Mail:
.... The senator said it was shameful that neither the Department of Defense nor the Department of Veterans Affairs acknowledge Gulf War syndrome as a real illness.
"We were stonewalled by the DOD in hearing after hearing after hearing," Rockefeller said of several meetings on the issue since the early 1990s. "They thought we were wrong, crazy, and came up with some kind of cockamamie theory. No matter what we produced, they'd send it back and call it nonsense..."
"My attitude is that we should never stop fighting until they get the money and benefits they need," Rockefeller said. ... he'd continue to push for those veterans as a member of the Senate Veterans Committee. He also is set to begin his tenure as chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee."

It is too late for some Gulf War Veterans. Just January 10th my son who was by now 35 years old died. I know without any shadow of a doubt it was something the Army did to him, 1 week before they were to be deployed to Kuwait. I am sure other family members are also grieving over the loss of their loved ones to this secret cover up by the government.
Jagmedic: Thanks for your posting.
Here's some facts to augment your posting:
There have been over 22 yrs. of "meetings" over the anthrax vax issue. Nothing good has been achieved via the VA on this issue.
The DOD is exclusively responsible for the failed implementation of the vaccine. The VA is merely a "placation tool" for the DOD.
The vaccine is a failure, as is the judiciary that continues to cover for the DOD.
The 22yrs. of data collection on this topic proves beyond all doubt that more people have been permanantly disabled by the vaccine than actual anthrax exposures prevented.
The VA must compensate these patriots, NOW! Full retirement pensions, full medical for life, social security disability & caretaker stipends. Let's consider lowering the taxes on these loyal warriors also.
MY COUNTRY, this time WRONG!
COMPENSATE NOW!
