A pernicious element to his recommendation seems to be the notion that the vaccines are safe, so why not give them?

The burden is on us to come up with rational reasons NOT to vaccinate rather than on the vaccine manufacturers and public health officials for reasons why we SHOULD vaccinate. That's just plain nonsense - not to mention unscientific.Dr Chris Kinghttp://animavet.com.aunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6592607595936297457.post-10575802067711649752021-04-11T18:10:02.612-04:002021-04-11T18:10:02.612-04:00Chris, it is also unfortunate that Shane Crotty, t...Chris, it is also unfortunate that Shane Crotty, the La Jolla immunologist who led the study that found those recovered have robust immunity at 8 months, has now become a talking head pushing the recovered to get "one dose" of vaccine, instead of two.

I wonder what the carrot or stick was that led him to say that, going against his own findings.

Meryl Nass, M.D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07001997291638442225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6592607595936297457.post-69581169811309185382021-04-11T17:46:38.894-04:002021-04-11T17:46:38.894-04:00"The results, published in Science, showed th..."The results, published in Science, showed the immune systems of more than 95% of people who recovered from COVID had durable memories of the virus up to eight months after infection."

Unfortunate wording, that. It could be read as stating that natural immunity lasts for 8 months, at most (i.e., less in some individuals). The truth more likely is that the study concluded after 8 months, so no data were collected beyond that point, and we have absolutely no idea how long natural immunity - or vaccinal immunity, for that matter - will last in the average person. With natural immunity, it's likely to be years, if not a lifetime, particularly if some variation of SARS-CoV-2 continues to circulate globally (which too is likely), thereby "boostering" those with natural immunity at each subsequent exposure - which is how the immune system is supposed to work.

Small but important point when countering the ridiculous argument that vaccinal immunity is superior to natural immunity.Dr Chris Kinghttp://animavet.com.aunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6592607595936297457.post-55454974775210788572021-04-11T17:22:13.683-04:002021-04-11T17:22:13.683-04:00Tell you neighbor that asking your vaccine status ...Tell you neighbor that asking your vaccine status is like asking someone their HIV status. Then sit back and watch them backpedal at warp speed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6592607595936297457.post-20670764793639382312021-04-11T15:55:35.043-04:002021-04-11T15:55:35.043-04:00Agreed - this is tough with regard to friends and ...Agreed - this is tough with regard to friends and family because I won't lie to them as they deserve to know my vax status if they feel it would affect their risk.
But for neighbours and random strangers our personal health choices are really not their business. If they don't have the scientific literacy to understand the reasoning for holding off on experimental injections but its awkward to avoid the conversation without revealing your status, why not just tell them you've been advised by your doctor to wait and you are choosing to take your doctor's advice? When they ask why: "It was a private conversation with regard to my personal health issues." Shame on them for asking why your doctor suggested something for your personal health. And...you are not lying - there are plenty of doctors who agree it makes sense to avoid or wait, particularly if you're not at high risk. Then just "broken record" to all their objections - hmm, yes, well I'm going to follow my doctor's advice - until they just stop talking.
At a certain point I guess it's a sorting hat situation - we'll have to find our own people and get sorted away from the ones who can't understand the complexities and questions around this novel intervention and the inalienable right to choose whether to receive a medical procedure.yvettenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6592607595936297457.post-28210673528557788792021-04-11T13:58:15.957-04:002021-04-11T13:58:15.957-04:00Try telling this to a nosy neighbor who insists it...Try telling this to a nosy neighbor who insists it’s your “community duty” to get vaccinated by a still experimental product. This is gonna be a hard slog for those of us refusing at present to get one of these “vaccines” for the long months ahead. These people remind me of Nazi sympathizers, frankly. If they could inform on you, they most assuredly would... Sickening. MLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00821262776757228283noreply@blogger.com
