So what DO they do, and WHY are we using them?Meryl Nass, M.D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07001997291638442225noreply@blogger.comBlogger1125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6592607595936297457.post-56442372082974620912022-04-03T17:48:43.773-04:002022-04-03T17:48:43.773-04:0056.58% rate INCREASE from 2020 to 2022 in Covid-19...56.58% rate INCREASE from 2020 to 2022 in Covid-19 mortality compared to all other causes.<br /><br />The CDC has a data problem here.<br /><br />Their WONDER system states "Underlying Cause of Death" from COVID-19 in 2020 = 350,831, as of Jan. 5. 2022 [with no data for 2021 and 2022 on this "Underlying Cause of Death, 1999-2020 Results Deaths occurring through 2020" on this section of Wonder at this time].<br /><br />CDC website as of 4/1/2022 says:<br />2020 deaths = 385,487 COVID-19 [using ICD–10 code U07.1]<br />2020 all deaths = 3,389,095.<br />385487/3389095=0.1137, or 11.37% of total US deaths in 2020.<br /><br />2021 deaths = 461,665 COVID-19 [using ICD–10 code U07.1]<br />2021 all deaths = 3,463,066<br />461665/3463066=0.1333 or 13.33% of total deaths in 2021<br /><br />2022, so far, according CDC, deaths = 133,437 COVID-19 [using ICD–10 code U07.1]<br />2022 all deaths = 749,208<br />133437/749208=0.1781 or 17.81% of total deaths in 2022, to date<br /><br />.1781/.1137=0.5658 or 56.58% rate of increase of covid deaths as proportion of all US deaths from 2020 to present, according to CDC.<br /><br />The US Census Bureau recently [March 24, 2022] obscured a key data point [that is, did not mention], something, in essay: 'Pandemic Disrupted Historical Mortality Patterns, Caused Largest Jump in Deaths in 100 Years'.<br /><br />The report said: "From 2010 through 2019, the annual average increase in deaths was 42,934 or 1.63%, Prior to 2020, the largest annual percent increase this decade was 3.28% in 2015."<br /><br />The Census Bureau failed to mention that: Without the CDC assigned covid deaths in 2020, US deaths that year jumped 5.2%, from 2019 deaths; which is a 319.7% jump from the previous 10-year historical average of 1.63% the Bureau reported.<br /><br />Total non-covid deaths of 3,001,608 in 2020 dropped slightly to 3,001,401 in 2021, a decline of 2,207 or -0.07% compared to 2020.<br /><br />What increased?<br /><br />Here's a sample:<br />"accidental" poisoning via narcotics [in other words, overdoses 'accidental' or on purpose]<br />2019 deaths = 29,803<br />2020 deaths = 35,411 -- nearly 20% spike<br /><br />'assault by other and unspecified firearm discharge':<br />2020 = 17,726<br />2019 = 12,906 -- nearly 40% spike<br /><br />https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm<br /><br />https://www.census.gov/library/stories/2022/03/united-states-deaths-spiked-as-covid-19-continued.html<br /><br />https://wonder.cdc.gov/<br /><br />https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/flu.htm<br /><br />-30-Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
