A therapeutic drug stockpile is the only credible option.<br /><br />The theory would seem to be not only would the country be under a "bio-attack" it would be one that would last years?!? That is the theory put forth - given the time it takes for the current anthrax vaccine to work, we'd be expecting a continuous fresh anthrax assault over a sustained period of time. As goofy as our government defenses may be - I'm thinking after 3-4 months of "consistent assault" we'd take counter measures<br /><br />Pneumonic plague maybe one has a point there as a contagious bio-weapon (although clearly standard anti-biotics could treat an outbreak) - but anthrax?
